Qualification for this kind of mortgage can be difficult. The blanket mortgage covers more than one property owned by the same borrower. For example, a lender might issue a blanket mortgage to cover the borrower's primary residence and a second home, or the lender might issue a blanket mortgage to a builder to cover all of the lots in a subdivision.
